Library Visit
For our class session on today, we will be in LIC2 (216a). Please bring your first Discovery Log entry as a hard copy. The librarians will be guiding you through using a new database.
-
Be sure to create a new Discovery Log entry for this session! Save all entries in your online folder.
Homework
Use the ACRL readings from Monday's homework!

Write a memo to Dr. Blalock by focusing on the following:
-
What did you learn in the library visit about the EBSCO Discovery tool?
-
How was the library visit helpful in understanding research and your own process?
-
Use textual evidence from the reading..
-
-
How does the library's research session differ from the research you did for the first Discovery Log entry? What is useful about a Google search? What is useful about an EBSCO Discovery search?
-
What new research practices do you think you have learned so far this semester?
-
How do you ask a Librarian for help? Where can you find out how to contact them?
-
Explain the differences between types of sources you have encountered. Pick a couple of sources you have found so far and explain the purpose, audience, genre, currency, and credibility of that source.

Look up a memo template either through Microsoft Word templates or Google it!

Please write this memo by being conscious of the situation: the audience, genre, and purpose.
