Step B: Using the handout I give you, fill out the handout based on the images below. Please fill out your own handout and turn it in at the end of class. You may work in groups.

Step C: On the last big box on the handout, respond to the following:

  • Why was Andrew Jackson not happy with the Election of 1824?

  • What did Andrew Jackson say he would do? What did he actually do?

  • Based on today's lecture, create a chronology or two. 

Reminders...

  • The next History Reading Quiz is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th and will cover the reading in Documentary History entitled, "Jacksonian Democracy".

  • At this point in the term, you will begin shifting to New Research/Intersections Project where you will choose a topic that relates to the Key HIST 1301 themes that include notions of citizenship; war; power and oppression; resistance and revolt; equality, liberty, and order; and how writing has made things happen.

    • Professor Dre will allow some time in class to brainstorm, consider potential topics. Please feel free to come by if you would like guidance or to discuss potential avenues of research interests. We are here to help!

  • Planning Ahead for Spring 2020--Did you get all your appointments set by last Friday??

    • Make an appointment with your advisor to prepare for Spring 2020 class registration!

    • Electronic version of the Spring 2020 schedule will be viewable on SAIL, October 14th!
