Writing & Rhetoric Midterm Portfolio Reflection & Calendar Update #4
Get into groups of 2!
-
Discuss the following:
-
With your partner, explain the approach you have taken to write your Reflective overview. How long has it taken you to draft? How much longer do you think it will take you to write/finish?
-
How have you figured out what has been significant to your learning so far this semester? What assignments/activities are worth remembering and reflecting on? How do we decide?
-

-
Calendar Update #4 (Show me these before you leave!)
-
Create a GSD list of all of the things you need to do for the Writing & Rhetoric Portfolio.
-
When will you work on the draft?
-
What do you still need to include in the draft?
-
What revisions do you need to make?
-
When could you ask for help (if you needed it)?
-
When are you going to have certain things done? What deadlines can you give yourself?
-
What else do you need to consider?
-
-
Create a GSD list of all the things you need to do for History Exam #2.
-
When are you going to work on the study guide?
-
Are you able to make it to SI? To Wooster's hours?
-
When do you want to have certain parts of the study guide done by? Give yourself deadlines...
-
What areas on the study guide are you most confident about? What areas do you need to work on?
-
-
Exam II Study Guide
-
We will work on the study guide as a class but we will also need to do other things for the Learning Community. Please do not wait for Seminar to do exam prep. If you want to get ahead, by all means, please do so!
-
SI has already gone over Essay #1!
-
Group work or do your own thing?
-
Start working on the study guide, either in groups or alone. Please show me something substantial that you have done for the study guide before you leave!
-
Chronologies?
-
We provided a way to practice the chronologies for the previous exam. Now, it is your turn to see how to do this on your own. Think of how long we spent in Seminar, in SI, in lecture to cover material.
-
How can you think for yourself when faced with the issue of figuring this part out?
-
-
Matching
-
You have an idea of what Wooster looks for with this area...What could you do this time around?
-
-
Reminders...
-
At this point in the term, you will begin shifting to New Research/Intersections Project where you will choose a topic that relates to the Key HIST 1301 themes that include notions of citizenship; war; power and oppression; resistance and revolt; equality, liberty, and order; and how writing has made things happen.
-
Professor Dre will allow some time in class to brainstorm, consider potential topics. Please feel free to come by if you would like guidance or to discuss potential avenues of research interests. We are here to help!
