Part B.

Work on Topic Review Guide #9. On a piece of notebook paper, write the question and response. Write in pen!

• Discuss the economic problems of unemployment and inflation and their causes and cures.

• Discuss how aggregate demand, economic growth, unemployment and inflation are interrelated and why.

• Define Fiscal Policy and discuss the role of Congress and the President in shaping it.

• Discuss the issues in fiscal policy regarding taxation.

• Discuss issues in fiscal policy regarding spending and borrowing.

• Define Monetary Policy and discuss how the Federal Reserve Board uses it to attempt to regulate the economy.

• Identify the government’s basic economic goals and discuss how fiscal and monetary policy can be used to adjust aggregate demand to achieve these goals.
