Today's Goals

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate control of situation-appropriate conventions of writing.

  • Explain what they have learned from being a novice in new writing situations, and describe how these experiences, which might include failure, contribute to their willingness to accept new challenges as a writer.

Habits of Mind

  • Metacognition is fostered when writers are encouraged to reflect on the texts that they have produced in a variety of contexts;

  • Persistence is fostered when writers are encouraged to consistently take advantage of in-class (peer and instructor responses) and out-of-class (writing or learning center support) opportunities to improve and refine their work.

Warm Up 

On a piece of paper, write your main research focus into a question. Write this question in the middle of the page. 

​

Pass the paper to your right however many times I tell you to! When you get a student's question, write down a question to help that student's next steps in researching. 

​

Be sure to find your piece of paper before you leave!

Workshop

For the remainder of class work on any assignment for Writing &Rhetoric that you need to work on.
