Reading Discussion

Let's take a look at this video...

  • What stands out about the video?

  • What adversity were these female athletes facing?

  • How is/has change taken place?

  • How are these female athletes taking part in a conversation? 

  • How are they constructing their authority?

Reading:​

  • "Framework for Information Literacy" Scholarship as a Conversation (p.8)

Group Discussion: Get into your reading groups and discuss the section you are assigned. Do the following for your section: 

  • Speaker

  • Writer

  • Researcher

  • Support

​

  1. In your groups, take time to write down at least one sentence from the text that you found confusing. 

  2. As a group, try and break down the sentence into smaller parts and try restating the sentences as a questions. Also, find a connection to either the IA #1 or the Intersections research proposal. 

  3. Once you have a question for your question, try discussing and answering the questions. 

  4. Make sure your note taker writes down the questions and the answers you all come up with in the Google doc.

Midterm Portfolio 

Submission

  • Turn in 2 links: 

    • Reflective Overview​

    • Online Folder

To turn in the links, go to Blackboard>Turn in Portfolios Here!>Midterm Portfolio.

  • Click on the Write Submissions box and paste the 2 links in there. 

  • Be sure you are copying and pasting the right links.

We will be moving on next week but if you need the time, we can work it out. I have a specific deadline I need to meet as well to submit your Midterm grades to the university!

For the remainder of the class, work on something! Use this time to be productive and not leave yourself in a bind...

Be sure that you are aware of everything you need to get done for the midterm portfolio. If you are struggling/feeling overwhelmed, talk to me!
